Welcome to “The collected notes of a snowboard nerd”

Hello everybody — welcome to the blog space and community!

If you know me personally, or if you’ve ever trained with me, you’ve probably heard me mention the mountain of notes I’ve been writing about snowboarding over the past years. They started as quick scribbles — ideas about technique, tactics to achieve outcomes, ways to think on snow, or how to coach others. Over time, they grew to include concepts that stretch beyond snowboarding itself — reflections on learning, mindset, and even how the sport connects to everyday life.

This series is my attempt to turn those scattered thoughts into something more coherent — a place where they can live, breathe, and hopefully help others. After years of jotting ideas between lessons, flights, pow days and most of the time in the shower or as I’m falling asleep, I realized I’d built more than a notebook. I’d built a personal philosophy of snowboarding.

Snowboarding doesn’t owe me anything — it’s given me more than I could ever give back. It’s taught me how to think, how to teach, how to fail, and how to grow. Sharing these ideas is my small way of giving something back to the sport/community that has, and continues to shape me.

Whether you’re an athlete developing your riding, an instructor chasing the next level, a coach refining your craft, or just someone who loves sliding sideways as much as I do — welcome.

Each week, I’ll post one “snowboard idea” — short, thought-provoking, and rooted in real riding and coaching. Some will be technical, some philosophical, some somewhere in between.

So, strap in, stay curious, and let’s explore what makes snowboarding such a beautiful blend of movement, mind, and meaning.

See you tomorrow with the first idea and weekly after that.
